Mission
The role is defined as a ‘ORM Specialist Role’ within the ING Global ORM Centre (IGOC), very specifically related to the processes within the Second Line Monitoring activity.


IGOC mission is to provide control-oriented qualitative activities (Second Line Monitoring) towards ING entities globally.  The role reports hierarchically to the Head of IGOC.

Your day-to-day
The primary role of the Senior Operational Risk Officer will be planning & coordinating second line monitoring activities for key control testing activities performed by ING entities worldwide.  


The above translates to the following (non-exclusive) responsibilities:
•Prepares the annual monitoring plan;
•Challenge and monitor the setup, execution and quality of Controls and Key Control Testing (KCT) throughout the year (Generic and SOX controls), Examining the test documentation and, if the case, Independently test controls, 
•Challenges and approves the 1st Line of Defence evaluation and sign off;
•Contributes and ensures the IGOC alignment to the initiatives driven by SLM4SOX Center of Excellence


•Provide advice, guidance and support regarding remediation actions for identified key control deficiencies;
•Assesses the completeness and monitoring the data quality in iRisk, as part of the approval of the local (ERM) Risk & Control Log.
•Registers the independent monitoring activities results in iRisk;


Who we are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team-player to be part of IGOC team who has the following characteristics:
•University degree;
•3-5 years prior expertise in the financial services industry;
•Solid experience in key control monitoring or audit as well as international exposure is an advantage;


•Proven knowledge and expertise in business fields such as   operational risk, audit and compliance will be a plus; 
•A team player with strong interpersonal skills who is able to operate in a diversified and multicultural work environment
•Strong and effective communication skills – fluent in written and spoken English;
•Excellent analytical skills as well as a keen eye for detail;
•Willing to travel internationally, if needed.



Your work environment
Within the IGOC, a team of Operational Risk Officers is dedicated to support the global Operational Risk Management functions on various ORM related activities to ensure the Operational risk is adequately managed.


Working with a variety of internal stakeholders offers an environment which not only provides the global overview on how operational risk is managed, yet also provides the opportunity to further support the enhancement of the global control framework.
